Mr Ajay Dolke is supporting the NGO Society for Rural and Urban Joint Activities (SRUJAN), Nagpur as the Managing Trustee. He has studied BSc. (Maths, Chemistry, Geology) and has a Diploma in Business and Human Rights. He is devoted to improving the lives of the Particularly Vulnerable Tribes (PTVG) namely Madia in Gadchiroli and Kolam in Yavatmal districts of Maharashtra. His special interest is on strengthening of forest-based livelihood for the forest fringed communities and he is a specialist on developing end to end value chain of Bamboo.
He is an advisor to the Government of Maharashtra’s “Maharashtra Bamboo Development Board”, advisor to Amravati University on “Bamboo based research and development”, member of “Review and Monitoring Committee constituted by Tribal Research and Training Institute, Pune, Maharashtra, for “Creation of PVTG Cell for Targeted Intervention” and member of expert committee constituted by Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Government of India on improvement of the recognition and vesting process of community rights under the Forest Rights Act, 2006 with special focus on Habitat Rights of PVTGs”
He contributes regularly to VAF’s research assignments.
