Nimisha is a development professional with over 12 years of experience in the areas of forest rights; community forest management; labour, business and human rights and promotion of sustainable livelihoods. She is based out of Guwahati, Assam. She has worked with Oxfam India, Magic Bus India Foundation and Centre for Microfinance and Livelihood (An initiative of Tata Trusts)- Assam in different capacities, mostly anchoring the state initiatives and leading across themes. Nimisha has played a critical role in leading a living wage study for tea plantation workers in Assam with over 5000+ workers and it has been for the first time an estimation of living wages for plantation workers in India was done. She has also been part of institution building and formation of producer groups in various districts of South Kamrup region of Assam and Jharkhand.
She regularly contributes to the Vikas Anvesh Foundation, mostly in research for Assam and Northeast India.
